Freshman Quarterback Review, Part One: ACC
One of the regular assumptions here and elsewhere holds that, whatever a player's performance as a freshman, automatically add major gains to his sophomore projections. He had no idea what he was doing; now he does. Hence: he will be better. He'll probably be awesome, in fact, since who's good enough to start despite having no idea what he's doing? Someone awesome. 2008 ACC Football Preview
When Miami, Virginia Tech and Boston College hooked up with the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2004, it was supposed to make for the greatest conference in football while crushing the Big East. Since that merger, the Big East has flourished while the ACC is 0-for in Bowl Championship Series games (Florida State '05 Orange Bowl, Wake Forest '06 Orange Bowl, Virginia Tech '07 Orange Bowl) and has produced the worst BCS team in terms of record since the system's inception (8-5 FSU, 2005). Is this the year things turn around? WEB RUN

“Which ACC fan base is the worst?” Former NC State punter Austin Herbert posed that question to AG yesterday. Here’s mine, again based on stereotypes associated with each school: 5.) NC State, 4.) Duke 3.) Clemson 2.) Miami 1.) Maryland - Crude, disgusting, and at times dangerous. Ask Carlos Boozer’s mom. WEBRUN

ACC football coaches: Whose seat is hot?
Now is as good a time as any to take a look at the conference coaches and just how hot their seats are in 2008. I should let you know that I don’t think any of the 12 are truly on the hot seat. Some are on warmer seats that others, but, short of some scandal, I don’t think we’ll see much change after this coming season. But I am predicting one coaching change after 2008. Keep reading to see which coach I think is gone. WEBRUN
