Freshman Quarterback Review, Part One: ACC

One of the regular assumptions here and elsewhere holds that, whatever a player's performance as a freshman, automatically add major gains to his sophomore projections. He had no idea what he was doing; now he does. Hence: he will be better. He'll probably be awesome, in fact, since who's good enough to start despite having no idea what he's doing? Someone awesome. ACC football coaches: Whose seat is hot?

Now is as good a time as any to take a look at the conference coaches and just how hot their seats are in 2008. I should let you know that I don’t think any of the 12 are truly on the hot seat. Some are on warmer seats that others, but, short of some scandal, I don’t think we’ll see much change after this coming season. But I am predicting one coaching change after 2008. UVA's Dombrowski, FSU's Simmons & NC State's Holtz Named to the College Football Hall of Fame

From the national ballot of 75 candidates and a pool of hundreds of eligible nominees, Archie Manning, chairman of The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame, announced the 2008 College Football Hall of Fame Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A) Class. The announcement includes three men with ACC ties. Virginia offensive tackle Jim Dombrowski and Florida State nose guard Ron Simmons were listed among the players tabbed, while one-time NC State head coach Lou Holtz was one of the two coaches selected.
