2009 ACC Football Championship Events

Tampa, Fl – Tampa Bay is in the midst of hosting the 2009 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship. Here are the events taking place today, December 5:

ACC FanFest – taking place in the Lot 6D at Raymond James Stadium (south parking lot), the ACC FanFest is the largest party during Championship Weekend. It all starts at 5 p.m., and there will be over 200,000 square feet of interactive games, clinics, team mascots, pep rallies, food and beverage, autograph signings, game merchandise, jumbotrons and general family fun. And, country music star James Otto will perform a pre-game concert, beginning at 6:30 p.m. This event is FREE to all ticketholders.

ACC Youth and Cheerleading Celebration – this youth outreach event will take place in the ACC FanFest area at Raymond James Stadium at 5 p.m. Starting just hours before kickoff and concluding with the final whistle of the Championship Game, 6,000 youth and their families will take place in this celebration, which will incorporate a tremendous lineup of FanFest festivities, including games, music, prizes, the Under Armour Football Combine and much more. Meanwhile, youth cheerleaders will learn new dances, cheers, and motions from ACC cheerleaders who will also sign autographs and take pictures.

The Celebration continues inside Raymond James Stadium where the north and south end zones will be packed with Youth Celebration participants during the pre-game Salute to Youth Football. The Youth Celebration participants will then sit back and watch (most for the first time) the pageantry, camaraderie, competition and sportsmanship of ACC Football.

ACC Mascots Game – at 5:15pm, and prior to the Pep Rallies for Georgia Tech and Clemson, ACC FanFest attendees will witness one of the marquee events during the 48-hour ACC celebration. The ACC Mascots Game features all 12 schools playing together for hard- (or soft-) hitting fun.

Clemson Tigers Pep Rally – starting promptly at 5:45 p.m. in the FanFest area at Raymond James Stadium, Clemson Tigers football fans can come out and help root their team on to victory. This event is open to all ticketholders.

Georgia Tech Pep Rally – immediately following the Clemson Pep Rally, fans can come out and help cheer the Georgia Tech football team on to an ACC Championship victory. It starts at 6:15 p.m., and this event is FREE to all ticketholders.

2009 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship – Kickoff is 8 p.m.
