When you run with the Pack, you’d better be able to keep up with Jamelle Eugene. That’s because the fifth-year senior is at the head of NC State's volatile rushing attack as one of two State players with over 1,000 career rushing yards.

His 1,168 career yards are good enough to put Eugene, dubbed “The Energizer Bunny” by coach Tom O’ Brien, ninth overall among active ACC backs. Eugene averaged 4.7 yards per carry in 2008, the highest mark on the team. He put up a season-best 92 yards in the win over Duke and got his only two touchdowns of the season versus North Carolina.
Wolfpack Elects Three Team Captains
Raleigh, NC - At the first team meeting of 2009 football camp on Sunday evening, the team voted on the players that would represent it as captains for the upcoming season. The players elected halfback Jamelle Eugene, offensive tackle Jeraill McCuller and defensive end Willie Young.

Eugene ranks ninth among active ACC players with 1,168 career rushing yards and has been referred to by O’Brien as “the energizer bunny” during his career. He has tallied 1,998 all-purpose yards during his two year career.
