Limited number of tickets remain for NC State at Virginia Tech game
Blacksburg, Va - A limited number of football tickets are now on sale for Virginia Tech's home game on Nov. 21 against NC State. The tickets are available because NC State returned a portion of its ticket allotment.
Fans can purchase the tickets by going to http://www.hokietickets.com.
Kickoff time for the game has yet to be determined.
Fans should be on alert for ticket scams for Virginia Tech at Georgia Tech football game
Atlanta, GA - The Georgia Tech Athletic Association advises fans to be cautious when considering the purchase of football tickets through non-Georgia Tech sources.
Tech officials have received reports of fraudulent ticket offerings and scams, including the sale/distribution of wristbands for entry into Bobby Dodd Stadium. These wristbands are not valid and a game ticket is required for admission.
Wristbands of any kind are not good for admission, and standing-room only tickets do not exist.
There have been reports of these scams for at least two Georgia Tech home football games - Saturday's game against Virginia Tech and the Nov. 28 game against Georgia.
The Georgia Tech Ticket Office cannot guarantee the validity of tickets purchased through any entity other than the Georgia Tech Ticket Office, Virginia Tech Athletics Ticket Office or other authorized ticket representative. Virginia Tech Hokies set new fundraising goal for Herzlich
BLACKSBURG, Va. - Virginia Tech football coach Frank Beamer announced Wednesday that a new goal has been set for the Virginia Tech football team’s fundraising efforts in honor of Boston College linebacker Mark Herzlich.
“There has been such an overwhelming response from our fans and the community that we want to raise our goal to $9,400,” Beamer said. “This outpouring of generosity truly shows what the Hokie Nation is all about and I’m thankful for that.”
The original goal of the initiative was set at $5,094, but over $7,000 has already been raised through the sale of Team United wristbands for $1 each. Members of the Virginia Tech football scout team sold the wristbands during last Saturday’s game with the University of Miami. The wristbands continue to be available at the University Bookstore, Volume II and at the Virginia Tech football offices and will be sold through Oct. 9. Individuals or groups wishing to purchase a minimum of 100 wristbands can do so by e-mailing the Virginia Tech Football Office at lepperly@vt.edu. Checks are to be made out to Uplifting Athletes and no credit card orders will be taken.
Public Sale of Tickets for Virginia vs Virginia Tech Football Game Starts Monday
Charlottesville, VA - A public sale of any remaining tickets for Virginia's home football game against Virginia Tech on Nov. 28 at Scott Stadium will take place Monday starting at 9 a.m. The reserved seat tickets are $50.
Beginning at 9 a.m., fans can purchase tickets online at VirginiaSports.com. In-person or telephone purchases are available by calling 1-800-542-UVA1 (8821) or locally at 434-924-UVA1 (8821) or visiting the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium.
Single-game tickets are also available for upcoming Virginia home games against Indiana (Oct. 10), Georgia Tech (Oct. 24), Duke (Oct. 31) and Boston College (Nov. 14).

"White Out" set for 2009 Virginia Tech home opener with Marshall
BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech football team will open its home schedule with a “White Out” for the second-straight year. The Hokies will wear white uniforms and a special helmet for their 2009 home opener against Marshall University, which will start at 1:30 p.m., on Sept. 12 at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field.
New White Out T-shirts for the game are available to purchase from the University Bookstores. The shirts are also available on line at www.bookstore.vt.edu. The shirts sell for $6 and the proceeds from the sales will go to Herma’s Readers, a non-profit organization that promotes the power of reading and literacy to youngsters during their formative years, grades K-3. The organization is a tribute to Tech coach Frank Beamer’s late mother, Herma Beamer, who taught in Virginia for over 30 years.
In addition, all fans are encouraged to bring a book to be donated to the Herma’s Readers program. Books will be collected in special bins at the gates the day of the game. All books will be donated to elementary schools within the state of Virginia.
Virginia Tech Football Individual Game Tickets go on sale Friday
BLACKSBURG, Va - The Virginia Tech Athletics Department announced Thursday that a limited number of football tickets will go on sale Friday, Aug. 28, at 10 a.m., for two of the six home games scheduled in 2009. Tickets are available for Tech’s home opener vs. Marshall on Saturday, Sept. 12 and the Hokies’ Thursday night contest Oct. 29 with North Carolina. The tickets are available because the visiting teams returned a portion of their ticket allotment.

Maryland vs. Virginia Tech Football Game Sold Out
Terps and Hokies to meet Nov. 14 in College Park
COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland and Virginia Tech will play before a sold-out Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium, the department of athletics announced Tuesday.
The Terrapins and Hokies are scheduled to play on Saturday, Nov. 14. Game time will be announced in early November.
"This is a tremendous show of support for our team," said Brian Ullmann, senior associate athletics director. "We have a great home schedule this year, and we look forward to more sellouts this season."
Despite the sellout, Terrapin fans still have a chance to see the game in person as a limited number of tickets are being held in reserve, exclusively for new season-ticket holders. In addition, new suites and mezzanine seats remain available on a multi-year, annual and single-game basis.
Season tickets for the seven-game home slate are still
available for as low as $135 and single-game tickets went on sale Saturday. Season-ticket packages will remain on sale until the first home game (James Madison, Sept. 12).
