Chapel Hill, NC - Christian Ponder threw for a career-high 395 yards and three touchdowns to help Florida State beat North Carolina 30-27 at Kenan Stadium on Thursday night.

Rod Owens added career-highs of nine catches for 199 yards, including a 98-yard score, for the FSU Seminoles.

Florida State finished with 438 total yards, the most allowed by North Carolina all season. Ponder completed 33 of 40 passes.

Chapel Hill, NC - T.J. Yates threw for two touchdowns while freshman receiver Erik Highsmith had a big game to help No. 24 North Carolina beat East Carolina 31-17 at Kenan Stadium.

Highsmith had six catches for 113 yards and a score for the Tar Heels, who are off to their first 3-0 start since winning the first eight games in 1997. His big day included a pair of key catches to move the chains on the Tar Heels' clock-draining drive that ended with Ryan Houston's 5-yard score with 1:58 left in the game.

Kelvin Bryant Named To 2009 ACC Legends Class

Greensboro, N.C. -- Former North Carolina tailback Kelvin Bryant has been named to the Dr. Pepper ACC Football Championship Game Legends Class of 2009.

The Legends will be honored at this year's Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game weekend. They will appear at the ACC Coaches and Awards Luncheon at noon on Friday, Dec. 4, and will be honored at the "ACC Night of Legends" held at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay on Friday evening. They will also be recognized during pre-game ceremonies at Raymond James Stadium for the 5th Annual Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship, which has an 8 p.m. kickoff on Dec. 5 and will be nationally televised by ESPN.

The group of 12 former gridiron standouts from current ACC schools includes three former ACC Players of the Year, seven former All-Americas, nine players who combined for 79 years of professional football experience and 10 who were drafted into the National Football League including two first-round picks and the No. 1 choice in the 1987 draft (Vinnie Testaverde).

In all, the collection of players and coaches combined to capture two national championships, one NFL World Championship and 15 ACC team titles.
